Attack of the Lesbian Zombies
Jun. 8th, 2006 | 08:36 pm
So. I have a project in mind and a few people that seem pretty syked to participate. I am a big fan of zombies, not sure why, just one of those things. I want to do a zombie short series. Thought the concept of Lesbian Zombies would be entertaining enough.. I haven't done any zombie photos yet but I did a light test with a sample dead person.

Tats with Mad Maddie and Evil Erika
Mar. 29th, 2006 | 09:40 am
These are from the same shoot as the senior pics. She wanted to get some of her tattoo as well. Which is much more fun as far as I'm concerned. We actually got her girlfriend to lay in for a couple shots too.

These are from a wedding where I sort of experimented with creative borders. It seemed to be a hit. I made them a book of about 40 8x10s, which is where most of the bordered shots went, and then a book of 4x5s which had an out takes section at the end. I love that part. Pictures of everyone looking silly. The digital camera I was using went a little a****** on me at the end of the ceremony, but luckily I obsessively bring my film camera for that very reason. It was a lovely wedding, which makes everything easier. They even had a horse and carriage. Sweet sweet.

Pano Kitten (glow)

This is from the Piano Kitten series. Such a hoot. Kyle did most of the work on this series. It only seemed fair seeing as he has the greatest obsession with felines.

Jesse Ellis' oil can 3 string and banjo
Feb. 7th, 2006 | 11:35 am
The first one is of Jesse Ellis playing a 3 string guitar made out of an oil can, from the shoot for his self-titled CD. He's a really phenomonal musician and to top it off he makes these really interesting instruments. At a show he usually has his accoustic guitar, his banjo, either his oil can guitar or his cigar box guitar, his bass drum, his cymbal and his harmonica. Never a boring moment.

Donna in the doorway
Feb. 6th, 2006 | 06:58 pm
I feel like the unifying characteristic is off in this subseries. Part of it is that I imagine what I would have done differently if they had been posed shots. Once they are in place with the rest of the shoot the fact that none of them are posed makes it overall more enjoyable.
When the site comes up i will have the entire night all together as it should be, but for the sake of these postings I think these subsets are much more appropriate.

Are You In My Book?
Feb. 5th, 2006 | 07:39 pm
This one is from a trip to the sculpture gardens during a friend's vacation to Austin. I dont know who these people are, but i thought the girl in the angel costume was really sweet. (mayhap it was Halloween?)
I remember back after some vacation when I was some indescernable age below 16. I developed the film and there was a headshot of this girl I'd never seen before. She was 7-10yrs with dark hair and skin and had this heartbreaking facial expression, calm and old. I hounded my family but no one knew who she was. Since then I've enjoyed taking pictures of the world around me without interacting with it, as much as is possible anyway. Sort of an insight into a world i dont exist in. It usually takes form as pictures of strange people.
I dont like the idea of my hobbies or art seeming or being cruel to anyone, at least within what i consider reason. So I'll take the opportunity to photograph something embarressing, but i dont share it unless there is no way of identifying the person (no face). Some compulsive part of me still needs to take the picture though, to capture the moment, no matter how horrific.
I imagine someday if I have sufficient material i will publish offline. Most of the pictures are in BW, no good reason i suppose, it just seemed apt. I dont have another theme that has spanned so much time or so many changes in skill levels.
The working title for the collection is Are you in my book?

Clock Tower after Rose Bowl
Feb. 4th, 2006 | 09:07 pm
A friend of mine requested pictures of the tower while it was all lit up after the Rose Bowl. I hadnt realized it was such a big deal, cosidering i didnt know what the Rose Bowl was, but went to appease the nutcase. I had no idea where I was going and parked a good thirteen blocks away down a few very dim streets in a practically empty parking garage. The walk actually ended up being relaxing even though i forgot to wear socks (again) and thought it was a good idea to wear a skirt on a cool windy winter night.
A person actually ran infront of the camera, but the exposure was long enough and it was dark enough that it didnt appear to do any harm.
goodtimes.

soul fade
Feb. 4th, 2006 | 04:07 pm
I've started working on getting the website set up beyond the under construction page. Ofcourse i have no clue what i'm doing, and its really (really) frustrating, but I wanted these neato thifty fades. I dont know if it will work in the end, but this is the way i want them to look.
